We set off bright and early on Sunday morning to get to the Rain Spring Jam in London. For me and 1K, this was our second trip to this event and the first for everybody else.
The event didn’t disappoint one bit. Having been before, me and 1K knew what to expect. The organisation was amazing! The music and the hosts were on point too! Me and Airdy entered the 2v2 as Spider & 1K were recovering from injuries. They still got down with the rest of us in the cyphers and we learnt a lot throughout the whole process! I knew it was going to be a fun day for all us, but more so for Magic Faris. He is a member of Industrial Techniques and this was his first event outside of Bradford. I’m excited to see how this pushes him and his breakin’.
We had some time to kill whilst waiting for the coach ride home. This made for a good opportunity to reflect on what we had seen and what we need to do next. We all learnt a lot that day. It’s jams as such that inspire you to keep pushing and show you just how great this culture can be. The popping battles made me want to take up popping classes! That’s how hype and positive the energy was.
We arrived back home at 5:45am! But it was truly worth the journey there and back. It felt amazing to have all 5 of us rolling as a unit and I can’t wait to do it again.
Monday became a day to rest up as Tuesday brought the Tech Styles Easter Dance Camp. Three days of intensive dancing with students under the Tranquil Productions family. It was back to work for myself but knowing that the others had the camp this week was invigorating, especially after the trip we just had.
Back to the lab and then onto the next one!
